Prairie dresses have never really gone away. The long, flowing, frilly gowns reemerged in the early '70s as a way for women to assert themselves after a decade of miniskirts designed for the male gaze. In the '80s the frills popped up again with the giant puffed-up sleeves and ruffled collars that were common in women's fashion. In the '90s, prairie dresses became chic grunge style and were often paired with chokers and Dr. Marten's boots. Now, the prairie dress has suddenly reemerged at your local Target. Countless, nearly-identical TikTok videos featuring the jeans went like this: set to a calming lofi beat, a TikToker would show off a brown Zara-emblazoned box and partake in a quick unboxing, removing the jeans from its tissue paper swaddle. With the rising of COVID-19 cases in the United States and Apple requiring its employees to wear masks in store again, a new story by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman shows that Apple closed a store after 20 employees were exposed to COVID. The only Apple Store available in Charleston, South Carolina, is now closed after more than 20 staff members were exposed to COVID-19. The store's website shows it will be closed until next week, with a sign on the front of the location also alerting customers to the shutdown. Stores of the Charleston location's size typically have 70 to 80 staff members, suggesting that about a quarter of employees were exposed.
